Darcy Bachert

Darcy Bachert is the Founder and CEO of Prolucid Technologies Inc., a Canadian software and systems integration company, with extensive expertise in embedded development, vision and imaging applications, complex distributed system design, and machine learning integration. Founded in 2008, Bachert has helped take Prolucid from an early stage startup to a team of 25, working to deliver hundreds of successful projects for some of the worlds largest brands. Working professionally in Software Engineering since 2001, his extensive experience in delivering mission critical applications across a wide variety of industries has enabled the team at Prolucid to use technology to solve real world problems and make a positive impact on the people, companies, and industries that they support.

Growing up on a farm in rural Ontario, Bachert has a strong understanding of the agriculture industry, and many of the challenges presented to farmers today. As part of this experience he has seen the transition of many small family farms that are now being operated as small or even large business, and an ever growing integration of technology to help drive performance improvements needed to be competitive in the industry. Being able to bring tools and technology to provide solutions, combined with a strong understanding of many of the practical limitations within agriculture, creates a great balance that he hopes can facilitate a real and positive impact.

Bachert graduated from Western University with a degree in Software Engineering. In addition to his degree, he holds a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation from Professional Engineers Ontario, representing high standards of engineering excellence, skills and experience, and professionalism.
