microDisplay X with Improved User Interface and New Features
Silicon Software GmbH Posted 05/21/2019
Convenient Installation of Image Processing Systems
Mannheim (Germany) – Silicon Software GmbH, manufacturer of frame grabbers and intelligent image processing solutions, launches with runtime 5.7 the configuration software microDisplay X for the convenient setup of image processing solutions with all Silicon Software frame grabbers.
microDisplay X supports users during the installation of Silicon Software frame grabbers to test the entire system structure, to select and parameterize applets and to configure camera settings. The software completely replaces the previous version microDisplay. During a transition period, both versions will be included in the runtime installation.
With the new greatly revised user interface, users are guided easily and safely to the first image acquisition of a camera frame grabber system. After loading an applet that matches the camera and frame grabber, the applet window shows the frame grabber with the loaded applet and its processes. For each applet process, the input ports of the camera and DMA output ports are displayed and can be configured and the configuration saved.
The complete integration of the tool GenICam Explorer enables, in addition to direct access to camera registers, to conveniently configure the link topology for GenICam compatible cameras (CLHS, CoaXPress and GigE Vision). The camera connection as well as the camera itself and the frame grabber firmware can be configured and controlled and the settings saved – as an alternative to configuration via SDK.
Pixel-related Detailed Analysis of Images
The software supports continuous image acquisition as well as image sequences and single images. After starting or stopping the image acquisition, the individual images are displayed and are available for a detailed analysis in a separate window (zooming and scrolling the images). Line scan camera systems are now easier to put into operation by means of data provided for individual pixel values and the gray/color value distribution of a line.
A newly integrated log window provides access to general and camera discovery log information, grabber events during image acquisition and system status information at any time. For first tests with the frame grabber, the simulator integrated in the applets can be used as an alternative image source instead of a camera. microDisplay X is part of the Silicon Software runtime (from RT 5.7) and available for Windows 7, 8, and 10 (32/64bit) as well as Linux (32/64 bit).
