TECHSPEC® MercuryTL™ Liquid Lens Telecentric Lenses Provide Quick Autofocus
Edmund Optics Posted 11/09/2018
Combines telecentricity with the flexibility of a liquid lens
Barrington, NJ, USA - Edmund Optics® (EO), the premier provider of optical components, introduces TECHSPEC® MercuryTL™ Liquid Lens Telecentric Lenses. These versatile integrated lenses combine the imaging performance of a telecentric lens with the flexibility of a liquid lens. This uniquely designed lens is ideal for gauging, measurement, and placement applications requiring quick depth of field adjustment.
TECHSPEC® MercuryTL™ Liquid Lens Telecentric Lenses utilize the unique features of telecentric lenses, such as eliminating parallax (or perspective) error and combine them with a liquid lens, which electronically controls the focus. The liquid lens is used to focus the telecentric lens, changing its curvature. This integrated design allows users to rapidly adjust the working distance, while maintaining telecentricity, distortion, and image performance over the entire working distance range. The integrated liquid lens provides quick autofocus capabilities, is ideal for machine vision, and offers the ability to rapidly focus on objects, whereas standard telecentric lenses cannot adjust focus as fast.
Four models with primary magnifications from 0.15X to 0.75X
TECHSPEC® MercuryTL™ Liquid Lens Telecentric Lenses are available in four models, with primary magnifications (PMAG) of 0.15X, 0.25X, 0.37X and 0.75X. The RoHS compliant, C-Mount telecentric lenses feature a maximum camera sensor format of ½" and an aperture ¬¬of f/10. An Optotune Industrial Electric Lens Driver and Hirose cables, both sold separately, are used to control the electrical current to the liquid lens. TECHSPEC® MercuryTL™ Liquid Lens Telecentric Lenses and accessories are in-stock and available for immediate delivery.
