PPT VISION Announces Repeat PPT861™ 3D Inspection Systems Sale

PPT VISION, Inc. (Nasdaq: PPTV) announced today that it has received a repeat order for multiple PPT861-HD 3D inspection systems from one of the world's leading manufacturers of hard disk drive components.  The PPT861-HD systems are used for profiling and inspection of hard drive suspensions and suspension assemblies, which are critical components used in hard drives.  The PPT861-HD, based on PPT VISION's patented 3D Scanning Moire Interferometry (SMI) technology is the only system on the market capable of providing both stand-alone and complete high-speed, in-line, production-level inspection of these hard drive components.  The company plans to ship these systems in its second quarter of fiscal year 2002.  PPT VISION has now sold 19 PPT861 3D scanning systems.
