Modern Marketing Conference Expanded to Offer More Strategies to Industrial Automation Marketers


ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Modern Marketing: Winning Strategies for the New Millennium will build on its successful first year by providing new and expanded sessions for industrial automation marketers looking for the latest marketing strategies.

The conference will be held July 24-25, 2000, at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City. It is sponsored by the Automation Technologies Council (ATC), umbrella organization for the Robotic Industries Association (RIA) and Automated Imaging Association (AIA). Managing Automation is endorsing sponsor of the conference.

"We received such a phenomenal response to this conference when we first held it in 1999, that it was clear we were offering something industrial automation marketers really needed," said Donald A. Vincent, Executive Vice President of the ATC. "At the urging of the attendees, we've made Modern Marketing an annual event."

Vincent added that the conference, which lasted one day in 1999, has been expanded to one and a half days to give speakers more time to share their strategies and attendees more time to network.

The 2000 Modern Marketing Conference will feature all new sessions on:

  • Competitor Intelligence
  • Creating Powerful Presentations
  • Effective Space Advertising
  • Determining Where to Spend Your Marketing Dollars

"One of the topics marketers are struggling with most these days is Internet marketing, so that will be a key session at the conference," said Vincent. "Most companies already have websites, but they need help developing successful marketing strategies to bring people to the site and keep them coming back."

In addition to these topics, two speakers are being brought back by popular demand to focus on new strategies for trade shows and lead generation. Dr. Allen Konopacki, President of Incomm Center for Research & Sales Training, will discuss major trade show trends for the year 2000 and how to make them work to your advantage. Bernie Goldberg, President of Direct Marketing Publishers, will also return to share proven strategies that create high-quality leads.

"Many of the speakers are not only marketing experts, but have spent years working directly at, or with, industrial automation companies," said Vincent. "They understand from personal experience the challenges faced by the audience."
