AIA Announces 2004-2005 Events

Highlights Include New Workshop on Machine Vision for Pharmaceutical & Medical Applications and The Vision Show West in 2005

Ann Arbor, MI – Several new machine vision events have been announced for 2004 and 2005 by the Automated Imaging Association (AIA), the global industry trade group representing more than 200 member companies from 23 nations.

Highlights include a new workshop on Machine Vision for Pharmaceutical & Medical Applications set for October 13 & 14, 2004, in Princeton, NJ and The Vision Show and Conference West, slated for April 5-7, 2005, in Santa Clara, CA.

‘‘With the economy strengthening and companies investing more in capital equipment than they have been for the past few years, we see the demand for machine vision solutions increasing,’‘ said Jeffrey A. Burnstein, Executive Director of AIA.

‘‘One of AIA’s key roles is to provide quality education about machine vision products and applications, so we are adding new events to help us reach more companies that could benefit from applying machine vision,’‘ Burnstein added.  ‘‘We’re especially excited about our new workshop on pharmaceutical and medical applications, two industries with great growth potential for machine vision.

‘‘We’re also happy to be returning to the west coast with The Vision Show.  We haven’t held a show there since November 2002 due to the slowdown in the semiconductor and electronics industries.  These industries are the two largest markets for machine vision.  With business picking up in both industries and the demand for machine vision accelerating, a return to Silicon Valley in April 2005 should be well timed,’‘ Burnstein explained.
