Summary

You are the advocate for the customer within Radiant Vision Systems. As a Senior Solutions Engineer, your primary responsibility is to develop applications for world-leading consumer electronics manufactures using Radiant technology. To accomplish this goal, you will interact directly with potential and existing customers to understand their requirements and then propose solutions consisting of either existing technology or new development work.

You must understand the company’s technology as it relates to our customer needs and understand the unique value Radiant can provide to a sales opportunity. Learning the industries and technologies that you are helping to sell into is important. To be successful in this role you should be constantly engaging internal team subject matter experts and constantly striving to understand our customer needs and how our products meet those needs.  The company will depend on you to help make sure we follow through on our commitments to our customers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the technical proposal process and ensure that all technical information and recommendations addressing customer requirements are accurate, properly defined, and detailed
  • Technical lead for product demonstrations and customer visits
  • Build rapport, elicit problem details, and develop long-term relationships with customers
  • Coordinate efforts to complete experiments and proof of concept (POC) testing, including:
    • Designing experiments and writing test procedures
    • Executing experiments and/or supervising resources
    • Providing timely, concise, and relevant reports on the completion of testing
    • Motivate on time project completion
  • Lead and mentor the Solutions Engineering Team
    • Drive the completion of Solutions Team annual goals
    • Ensure the team continues to develop their skills
  • Working with team members to estimate Engineering resources required to deliver solutions and create proposals for Sales and customers. Generate System Requirements and Specification (SRS) documents
  • Transfer pre-sales solution understanding to the engineering teams and following it through development and production to assure specifications are met
  • Maintain expert level knowledge of Radiant products and industry standards

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Providing roadmap feedback on requests from sales/customer to Product Management
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation (product specifications, datasheets, etc.)
  • Speaking about our products, applications, and solutions at Marketing events
  • Training sales teams/customers/peers
  • Enthusiastically pursue meeting and exceeding customer requirements
  • Post-sales/production support as needed
  • Attending sales forecast and strategy meetings

Desired Skills & Experience

  • S. or higher in STEM areas of study, Physics or EE preferred
  • 5+ more years of engineering experience
  • Software/scripting skills are a plus
  • Ability to interface equally well with customers, sales staff, product development engineers, as well as production managers and technicians, in a team-oriented environment
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Travel: Approx. 30%, domestic and international
