Embedded Developer - Prolucid Technologies Inc.
Digital video has been omnipresent in Bertola’s 14 years as an embedded developer. In his current role at Prolucid, he is responsible for designing image processing accelerators on FPGA hardware and writing high-performance code to control them. In the past, he has developed video path control firmware and image processor modeling frameworks for the VXP team at Gennum (now Sigma Designs). At Qualcomm, working for the Ethernet-to-Powerline (Homeplug AV2) adapter group, he implemented Quality of Service algorithms for video transmission across network devices with tight resource constraints. Bertola’s other interests lie in audio design, functional programming, and C++ development at all levels, from bare metal software to high-level GUI applications. Bertola has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering and a Master's degree in Microelectronics from Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal.
