Cables / Cable Assemblies / Connectors Questions

Question Asked:

We will capture from 11 USB3 cameras (1920 x 1200, 1 byte per pixel) at 100 frames per second. Capture into a single PC ideally. With our own software to process, store and analyse the data. Video data is initially stored in memory, not streamed to disk. This requires a multi port USB expansion solution, probably based on PCI express. We need full USB 3 bandwidth per port. Hence this card appears well suited. Also, I believe the manufacturer offers a 16-port option using 2 DU3X2-IPCIE2XG201 with the one PCIe board (IP8X-PCIE8XG201). That would suit us even better. Is this available? Prices for all would be great.

Michael, I was at Automate 2017 a few weeks ago, and I saw cameras that connect to the PCIe bus directly, this might be another option for you. I don't know if this is the only company, but here is a company name that might help you (Ximea). best of luck. Andy
