It depends on your task, but based on your description I would recommand a 4k kamera with 16KHz Scan rate, I think you will find at DALSA fitting cameras
How can I use a area scan camera for defect detection on metal sheet surface being rolled from speed 2 m/sec to 15 m/sec depending upon product? My field of view is 1900 mm. How will i synchronize speed of sheet with camera for accurate distance mapping of defect?
Hi , I would recommand a line scan camera and a encoder at the transport axis, so you get a nearly endless image, after all it's much easier to design a light for a line scan camera. Hope this will help you, feel free to contact me for further details. Best regards Michael
I want to detect air bubbles leaking up using a camera. The brazed adapters are loaded in an air under water tester. When the brazed area has voids the high pressure air leaks air bubbles from inside the adapter to the outside water. Can a camera detect the air bubbles and provide signal?
You can use any camera and a fitting light source to do it. With the right combination, you can simply use a Blobtool and detect and count the bubbles. If you want to try it - you can download the EyeVision - select in the hardware the camera you have even a cheap webcam would do it for this task.

You are here at the machine vision area, so we don't use this kind of camera, I would suggest if you want to make an automatic inspection a machine vision camera.
Which camera is most suitable for 3D scanning?
It depnds on the task you want to solve, that's why we support a wide range of 3D scanning devices, if you have a low scan rate you mostly use a cheap scanner if you have a high scan rate you need a more expensive one. If you tell me the task you like or have to do, I can give you a suggestion, which of the scanners would fit. So I need the scan width, the speed of the scanning and the width of the scanning and the resolution you need to solve it, based on this I can suggest you some of the available scanners. Looking for existing solutions for a mobile thermal application using an existing camera. We have a thermal camera - 640 x 480, 60fps, 8bit (or more) pixels. Currently, using a Pleora frame grabber GigE over Ethernet/PoE with a PC for lab and industrial apps. Desire to make a mobile system: same camera, frame rate, etc. User can start and stop acquisition. Store up to 20 - 30mins of video, which should be ~32GB+. Size, weight, and power need to be low. Seems system elements are: 1) Camera, 2) Grabber, 3) uP or other controller, 4) Storage. Any items exist that you know of? P.S. We believe we have a solution using an Intel Atom in ultra-compact format, but power hungry. Any other, like ARM + Storage solutions?
Are you still on the search, we do have a solution based on a thermal camera connected to an ZYNQ ARM baord with a LVDS Interface to the camera. But you can also use a cheap standard ARM board with a USB Thermal camera. So for instance you can use a Raspberry PI and the USB Thermal camera.
I am looking for an inexpensive system that I can use to measure and do capability studies on printed parts. We have two needs: 1) Occasionally measure a single part quickly. By measure I mean to measure the distance between two lines or edges. 2) Do capability studies on a production process that is aimed at finding the causes of variation between two lines on a printed part. This would entail measuring up to about 30 parts at up to about 16 places. This would be occasional use so an inexpensive starter system would be ideal.

We’re looking for a solution to photograph bearings and shafts 7 and 3mm dia respectively after applying grease or adhesive during automated manufacturing. Photographs are close-ups (macros) and require focus stacking. Results are stored for later use in order to diagnose end of line tester and others.
