New 1.3 MP USB 3.0 Camera running 150FPS
By: Point Grey Research Inc.
Compared to CCD, CMOS eliminates blooming, smearing, and consumes less power at higher frame rates. When combined with global shutter readout, the new FL3-U3-13Y3M-C delivers 1280 x 1024 distortion-free images of fast-moving objects at 150 FPS (8-bit) over USB 3.0. This new Flea3 model incorporates an On Semi ½” VITA 1300 monochrome sensor featuring 4.8 micron square pixels.
The Flea3 USB 3.0 camera line measures just 29 x 29 x30 mm and offers a variety of low-cost, high-speed, CMOS image sensors, ranging from 1.3 to 3.2 megapixels. The Flea3’s unique set of features are dedicated to maximizing USB 3.0 reliability and include a 32 MByte frame buffer for image retransmission; on-camera power, temperature, and status monitoring; and in-field updatable firmware.
This new model is ideal for low cost, high speed inspection as well as other high frame rate applications such as analyzing kinetic motion and measuring particle speeds and direction.
The FL3-U3-13Y3M is listed priced at USD $825 and is available now from Point Grey, its network of distributors, and at www.ptgreystore.com (for North American customers).
