MEGAPLUS for Demanding Applications

By: Princeton Instruments

Color and Monochrome Cameras for High-Resolution Imaging

Renowned for their outstanding image quality, it’s no wonder that MEGAPLUS are the cameras of choice at leading manufacturers seeking to improve quality and productivity. Whether the application involves industrial inspection, failure analysis, medical imaging or mapping geo-spatial boundaries, MEGAPLUS cameras are the standard for high-performance imaging.

Princeton Instruments is pleased to offer GigE Vision data interface for the entire line of MEGAPLUS cameras. These high-resolution cameras, with resolutions ranging from 1.6 to 16 megapixels, are used in some of the most demanding vision applications around the world. The GigE Vision interface enhances the versatility of MEGAPLUS cameras, which also feature Camera Link & FireWire (IEEE 1394a) interfaces.

Princeton Instruments’ decades of experience in low-noise electronics & digital camera technology means nothing short of excellence in performance, reliability and value. With the infusion of increased R&D resources & a team of experienced application & sales engineers, MEGAPLUS is positioned to continue at the leading edge of imaging technology.

Low noise = High dynamic range The MEGAPLUS family provides outstanding image detail with up to 16 megapixels of resolution & maximum frame rates of 30 frames-per-second. The core of the system is a powerful FPGA-based camera controller. The MEGAPLUS controller provides real time intelligence for each camera head such as: pixel defect mapping, flat field correction, gamma control, color space conversion, bit windowing, & more, with a high speed digitized data stream from imaging heads, which minimize heat, noise, & vibration. Typically used in machine vision, medical imaging, & remote sensing, MEGAPLUS cameras come in several different designs.
