Quality inspection of the container, correct seat of the stopper, Auto-ID and quality inspection of the sealing cap: there is much to inspect on vials. Most companies use different machine vision systems that respectively inspect only individual aspects for this purpose. VITRONIC's machine vision system VINSPEC, in contrast, even carries out several inspections at once. Depending on the inspection task, the appropriate software module is chosen in connection with the optimal sensor. This makes it possible to easily integrate the system at any relevant point during the filling and packaging process. With respect to the inspection of vials, VITRONIC offers a complete solution from one source. The system offers many individual inspections in one unit and these inspections can be utilized individually or collectively. The foundation for the GAMP-compliant customer solution are the inspection framework that was developed in-house and the appropriate sensor technology. The machine vision system VINSPEC is adapted to the respective process step and carries out the following inspections: quality inspection of the container, inspection of the stopper with respect to its correct seat and a partial crimp depth measurement. In addition, quality inspections on the sealing cap including the seal crimping, a detection of product mix-ups based on color and shape, as well as an Auto-ID (1D-/2D-codes, OCR, OCV) on the upper side and the outer surface of the cap are carried out.
Inspection from above eliminates mechanical turning: The machine vision system VINSPEC allows the all around scanning and inspecting of sealing caps. Due to the patented special optics, a single sensor can record a high-resolution image of the complete sealing cap including the lateral circumference. This eliminates the cost-intensive and time-consuming mechanical turning of the products.
