We are looking for a solution to be able to identify various types of door and windows and measure their height and width, from Architectural floor plans (blueprints). There are no standards how these doors are drawn (no specific model / pattern). These blueprints/ floor plans are only available in somewhat flat PDF’s (no metadata and no vectors). Can anyone give us some suggestions on software we can use?

I am looking for an inexpensive system that I can use to measure and do capability studies on printed parts. We have two needs: 1) Occasionally measure a single part quickly. By measure I mean to measure the distance between two lines or edges. 2) Do capability studies on a production process that is aimed at finding the causes of variation between two lines on a printed part. This would entail measuring up to about 30 parts at up to about 16 places. This would be occasional use so an inexpensive starter system would be ideal.

Hello, I am looking for some info about vision software development. I am looking for applying camera inspections to a 3D printer hardware to check the quality of the printed silhouettes. By now, under my basic research I already know about GigE protocol but not much about development of software for data collection of these kind of cameras. A good pointing for my research would be very appreciated.

We are system integrator and are facing an image issue which we are not clear if it is a camera, CameraLink - GigE converter or application issue. As the camera and Converter are dated before GigE 2.0 standard we are interested in the older version of the standards to get the UDP data analyzed. Acutally it looks like data does not correspond GigE standard 2.0! A download-link or a pdf of the older specifications could help. Thanks

I have an AVT GC-2450C camera. I need a simple software package to read camera setup parameters and begin grabbing frames at a specified rate and storing to disk, for perhaps a few hours until I tell it to stop. Can you recommend anything?

We want to develop a GigE vision device that will have multiple services, but the device must have only a single link ethernet port. For simplicity, we prefer that the device will expose only a single IP address. (Because otherwise, when simulating the device using a software simulator we will have to use multiple network adapter cards - each of them will have its own IP and MAC addresses). I have read (part of) the GigE Vision Specification version 2.0 document, and I understand that in order to achieve that, we need to implement DNS-SD in our device. My questions are: 1) Is this correct? Does the standard allow us to have multiple services on the same IP address, without using DNS-SD? 2) Does DNS-SD depend on mDNS? 3) Has anyone implemented DNS-SD that can comment how difficult is it to implement it in the device and/or in the software simulation? Best regards, Itai

Hi We are interested in using GigE Vision in an embedded system. We should start grabbing very fast (in less than 1 second from application start). Is it possible to do it? Is it possible not to use the discovery sequence in order to speed things up? Best regards, Tal

Dear ladies and gentlemen, we are using cameras with your standard in our x-ray systems. Our current preferences are cameras of the suppliers Basler AG & The Imaging Source. Both suppliers are implemented in our product lines. Unfortunately cameras of each single supplier are only working with their special software. This means whenever we implement Basler Software there will be detect only Basler products. Same with The Imaging Source. Even though all companies are working with same standard the manufacturer make sure that only won product will be detected. How is the procedure to arrange software which is not limited on specific manufacturer?! Thanks for your efforts. Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Best regards i.A. When I turn on my camera and connect to the router, the router has an address of 192.168.1.1 with a subnet of 255.255.255.0, but the IP address of the camera is 169.254.148.140. I want to send a device discovery broadcast message on port 3956 through the router. Problem is, it does not get to the camera because it is not in the subnet. Is there any way to make this happen?

I am looking for defect identification software in carbon steel piping. The images would be recorded on a SD card in a video camera. The camera is moved through the pipe via pressure and will travel up to 25 kms. We need the software to stabilize the video image and then find defects and estimate size. Defects will be pitting, erosion, wear.
