Would appreciate tips and proposals for solving the following application: I would like to build a system that is able to identify random (X, Y) coordinates with an accuracy of ca. 0.5 mm of a small amount (less than 24) of solid pins on a plane. The pins hit the plane randomly and consecutively one by one. They can be a bit tilted, so the position of the pin cannot be determined from the far end, but rather from the point where it is attached to the plane. The pins are made of carbon fibre or aluminum

I am creating a new GigE Vision compliant camera and am defining all of the registers. Registers will be continually defined, added, changed etc. When the register definitions change, I want to be able to auto generate the XML against the genicam schema. Is there a recommended way to do this? MS excel :- / ?? Ideally I'd like to be able to version control this register set wherever or however it is stored.

Do USB3 high speed data lines need to be crossed such that: Computer Camera TX+ to RX- TX- to Rx+ I'm thinking that the crossing of these signals occur on the camera such that when a straight through cable is connected, the crossing of the data lines is accomplished. Or, what is the pinout of a USB3 camera with micro B receptacle? Thanks.

My question is regarding the Gige Vision over 10 GigE. I saw Cameras with GigE Vision over 10 GigE. Is this standard is the same as the already published "GigE Vision v.2.0" by AIA with the difference that instead of using the GigE, it willl use the 10 GigE to achieved higher speed! or it is another new standard? in another words, what are the differences between the "GigE Vision v 2.0" standard and the new GigE Vision over 10 GigE? Many thanks for your kind help and support.

The Camera Link specification does not specify format of the data [1] that gets transferred over the various 'Ports'. Is there another specification that should be adhered to when designing a camera with a Camera Link interface? Or is the intention that while Camera Link provides the low level electrical interface the actual data that gets transferred from camera to frame grabber is not standardized? [1] By 'format of the data', I mean pixel ordering, ordering of RGB data, etc.

I am looking for a GigE Vision camera (resolution is not too critical at this point) for an application in the photo enforcement market. This camera would need to have a controllable IR cut filter for both color and Infrared illuminated images depending on the light level.

Dear Sir or Madam, I am Research Scientist at Disney Research Zurich, heading the Imaging and Video group. We currently plan the construction of a portable camera array of 15+ (up 40-50) cameras and the purchase of corresponding hardware and software components. Requirements of our planned array: * Global frame shutter, synced shutter of cameras (sync signal, external trigger or similar) * at least HD resolution at at least 25fps, better 2-4MP and around 60fps * the camera array _has_ to be portable/mobile, i.e. - support for direct onboard recording abilities like a flash card, hard drive on the camera - combination with standalone DVRs or compact PCs * an extensive, documented, portable API * focus, aperture, exposure/shutter speed, and white balance can be locked * large CCD for minimum noise As an example, the camera coming closest to these requirements is the http://www3.elphel.com/nc353_369 but it has rolling shutter. It would be great to know if you are aware of any alternative solutions that would meet the above requirements as best as possible. Thank you
